1. Introduction
These SMS Terms & Conditions govern the use of SMS communication between the Airdrie Black Community (ABC) and individuals who choose to receive text messages from us.
By opting in to receive SMS messages, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
2. SMS Consent & Information Use
When you consent to receive SMS messages from ABC:
- Your phone number will be used only for ABC-related messaging
- Your number will never be shared or sold to third parties for marketing.
Mandatory Statement:
“The information (phone numbers) obtained as part of the SMS consent process will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes.”
3. Types of SMS Messages You May Receive
If you opt in, you may receive messages related to:
- Event or meeting reminders
- Community updates and alerts
- Program coordination messages
- Follow-up communications
- Membership-related notifications
- Billing or administrative inquiries (if applicable)

“Hello, this is a reminder of your upcoming ABC event. Reply STOP to opt out at any time.”
4. Message Frequency
Message frequency may vary depending on community activity and engagement needs.
Typically, messages are limited to no more than 2 per week, unless urgent communication is required.
5. Potential Fees
Standard message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier’s plan.
Fees may vary for domestic or international messaging.
6. Opt-In Methods
You may opt in to receive SMS messages by:
- Checking the SMS consent box on any ABC membership or event registration form
- Submitting an online form that includes a phone number and SMS checkbox
Required Opt-In Language for Forms:
“By checking this box, you agree to receive SMS messages about appointment reminders, follow-up messages, billing inquiries, project updates, and alerts from the Airdrie Black Community. 7. Opt-Out Method
You may stop receiving SMS messages at any time by:
- Replying “STOP” to any ABC text message

Once you opt out, you will no longer receive SMS communications unless you opt in again.
